The IMMS has been a part of the Marine Mammal Stranding Network for the Gulf Coast including Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama since 1984.
IMMS teams have always responded to local marine mammal emergencies as well as those as far away as South America. This has been done as a public service and all care, blood-work, transportation and release costs have been absorbed by the IMMS. |

We would like to offer our sincerest thanks to all the gracious volunteers, organizations, government agencies and other institutions that have made our dolphin and sea lion rescues possible.
In particular, we would like to thank:
And special thanks to Dr. Carla Huston with Mississippi State, Constance Ober with the Red Cross, and Dr. Noreene Parker for supplies from the Friends of Animals of the Coastal Empire.
If we have inadvertently neglected to mention anyone, we do apologize for that was certainly not our intention. All of the help we have received and continue to receive has been instrumental in helping us cope and provide care to our animals after this catastrophic event.
